You’d be amazed how much research you can get done when you have no life whatsoever. -Ernest Cline
Researchers from across the board, working in all imaginable fields and field-sites, often have experiences that they seldom talk about and share. Naturally, this is because field research is aimed at collecting data pertaining specific research projects. However, when this data is in turn duly processed and analysed we end up drawing very selectively upon only the most relevant bits and pieces for our specific scholarly needs. Thus we tend to keep for ourselves- except in a few private conversations here and there- what is sometimes the best of those experiences: our first impressions, our doubts, the smallest but most captivating social phenomena, a wonderful image, overwhelming feelings, a sense of insecurity. This blog is therefore here to serve the purpose of recording and sharing these ‘behind the scene’ experiences of our work in the field.
